Benefits of a 5th Wheel

Sunday, 7 June 2009 23:14 by admin
A 5th wheel is a two-level travel trailer.  It must be towed by a pick-up truck as one part of the trailer sits in the truck bed and the other part is towed behind.   The “master bedroom” occupies the area over the truck bed.  The area is not full height but there is room to sit up.  The rear of the unit is like the pull-behind trailers with tables and seats that fold down to beds.  5th wheels  are know for handling more easily on the road and for having more maneuverability. Their design puts more weight on the towing vehicle and less weight being towed behind the truck, hence the greater maneuverability.  This allows 5th wheels (avg.  21'-24') to be larger units than other pull-behind trailers (avg. 16'-19').
