CALIMESA, Calif. -- The Calimesa City Council opened public hearings at its Oct. 19 meeting, which included a municipal code amendment regarding parking of commercial and recreational vehicles.
The parking of commercial and recreational vehicles ordinance did not pass. The issue has been discussed in the planning commission and city council more than once and went to a public workshop and in March. A joint meeting in June reviewed options, heard additional public comment and directed staff to recommend amendments to the RV code standards of the Calimesa Municipal Code. The planning commission recommended a draft ordinance.
In the process the city has been considering the ordinance’s purpose and intent, vehicle definitions, parking requirements (residential and public streets), limitations of usage, maintenance, temporary permits for guests and other minor modifications. The issue will once again be heard at the Nov. 2 city council meeting as an open public hearing.
