BEND, Ore. -- Idle property at the Redmond Humane Society's Shelter is being put to use. Starting Nov. 3, people can park their recreation vehicles and help provide some sustainable income for the shelter.
Society board member Don Wayne says rates will be competitive. “We are taking about an acre of unused land out behind the shelter. And we have fenced it, we’re putting in security and we’re turning it into an RV, boat, trailer storage facility for people in the community who need a place to park their vehicles during the winter,” he said.
Wayne says the society will be holding a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. complete with soft drinks and hot dogs.
